Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
This page provides information about Research Collab, its organisational structure, publishing services, editorial collaborations, publication policies, and research dissemination practices. We aim to maintain transparency and help authors, editors, researchers, and academic institutions understand our operations and the arrangements applicable to individual publication projects.
1. What is Research Collab?
Research Collab, also known as Global Research Collaborative, is a research collaboration and scholarly publishing initiative established to facilitate international academic networking, research collaboration, and publication opportunities.
We connect authors, editors, researchers, and academicians across disciplines and geographical regions through collaborative projects, edited volumes, books, and other scholarly publishing activities.
Research Collab operates through its own publishing arrangements and collaborations with other publishing houses, depending on the requirements of individual projects.
2. Is Research Collab a university or degree-awarding institution?
No. Research Collab is a registered enterprise operating in the research collaboration and publishing sector. It is not a university, degree-awarding institution, or academic accreditation body.
Our activities focus on research collaboration, editorial coordination, academic publishing, and the dissemination of scholarly work. Participation in a Research Collab project does not confer an academic degree or institutional accreditation.
3. What are the main categories of Research Collab's publishing activities?
Research Collab's publishing activities are organised into three broad categories:
- Free Collaborative Publishing: Selected projects conducted under arrangements that do not require participating authors or editors to pay a publication processing fee, subject to the terms of the individual project.
- Paid Editorial and Publishing Collaborations: Projects undertaken under agreed service arrangements, including collaborations with external publishing partners such as Deep Science Publishing.
- Research Collab's Own Publishing: Books and edited volumes published through Research Collab's own publishing arrangements, with applicable publication documentation provided according to the relevant agreement.
Not every publication associated with Research Collab is published by the same publishing house. The responsible publisher and applicable terms should be verified for each individual title.
4. Is every Research Collab book published by Deep Science Publishing?
No. Research Collab works through different publishing arrangements. Some projects may involve external publishing partners, while others are published through Research Collab's own publishing arrangements.
The publisher responsible for a particular title should be identified through its publication details, ISBN records, publishing agreement, and other relevant documentation.
5. What types of publications does Research Collab support?
Depending on the project and publishing arrangement, Research Collab may support authored books, edited books, textbooks, book chapters, monographs, conference proceedings, and other academic or interdisciplinary publications.
The availability of a particular service, publication format, or editorial collaboration depends on the scope and requirements of the relevant project.
6. What are the different editorial and publishing collaboration models?
Research Collab supports different arrangements for managing edited-volume projects:
Peer Editorial Collaboration: Research Collab coordinates the overall publication workflow and appoints or approves editors to manage the academic content of assigned volumes. Editorial assessment, reviewer coordination, revision management, and publication processing are conducted according to the project requirements.
Independent Editorial Collaboration: The nominated or approved editor independently develops and manages the edited volume, coordinates contributors, oversees manuscript assessment and review, and submits the completed volume to Research Collab under the agreed publishing arrangement.
Direct Publishing: An author, editor, or editorial team submits a completed manuscript directly to Research Collab for assessment and possible publication. The submitting party is responsible for preparing the manuscript and ensuring that appropriate editorial assessment has been completed.
These models describe different administrative and editorial arrangements. They do not automatically represent different levels of peer review.
7. Are all edited volumes reviewed before publication?
Edited volumes are subject to editorial assessment by the assigned editor or editorial team. Where required by the project, publication model, or editorial decision, reviewers or subject specialists may also be invited to assess individual chapters or the complete manuscript.
The review process may involve recommendations for acceptance, revision, further assessment, or rejection. A manuscript must satisfy the applicable editorial, originality, and ethical requirements before publication.
Research Collab distinguishes editorial assessment from external peer review. A book or chapter is described as peer-reviewed only when an appropriate peer-review process has actually been conducted.
8. What are the publication fees?
Publication charges depend on the project, publishing partner, manuscript length, selected service package, and applicable agreement. Some collaborative projects may be free of publication processing charges, while others operate under paid editorial or publishing arrangements.
For books published under Research Collab's own applicable fee structure, the listed packages are:
- International authors: USD 72 for up to 200 pages, with USD 0.25 per additional page, or USD 130 for the unlimited-page package.
- Indian authors: ₹3,249 for up to 200 pages, with ₹10 per additional page, or ₹6,200 for the unlimited-page package.
- Individual chapter DOI: USD 20 per chapter for international authors and ₹250 per chapter for Indian authors, where available and not already included in the agreed package.
These charges apply to the stated Research Collab package and should not be assumed to apply to publications managed by external publishing partners. Authors should confirm the final fee, included services, and any additional charges before making payment.
9. Does payment guarantee publication?
No. Payment does not guarantee manuscript acceptance, favourable editorial decisions, peer-review approval, or publication. All submissions remain subject to the applicable editorial assessment, originality requirements, publication ethics standards, and documentation requirements.
10. Does Research Collab charge a submission fee?
Under the stated Research Collab book publishing arrangements, no fee is charged merely for submitting a manuscript for consideration. Publication processing charges apply according to the selected package and agreed publishing arrangement.
Authors should check the terms of individual projects, particularly where an external publishing partner is involved.
11. What publication ethics policies does Research Collab follow?
Research Collab promotes originality, accurate referencing, responsible authorship, proper copyright compliance, confidentiality, conflict-of-interest disclosure, and transparent editorial decision-making.
Authors are expected to submit original work, acknowledge sources, obtain necessary permissions, and comply with applicable research ethics requirements. Editors and reviewers are expected to assess submissions fairly and disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
Manuscripts may be screened for similarity or other potential ethical concerns. Allegations of plagiarism, fabricated data, duplicate publication, copyright infringement, or other misconduct may be investigated and addressed through appropriate editorial action.
12. Are the publication fees, review policies, and indexing pages final?
Research Collab continues to develop and update its website resources relating to publication fees, review procedures, publication ethics, and abstracting and indexing.
Authors and editors should consult the relevant project guidelines and obtain written clarification from the editorial team where information is incomplete or where a particular publishing partner has different requirements.
Publication charges, editorial responsibilities, review timelines, and publication schedules may vary between projects. Claims concerning peer review or indexing should be verified against the documented procedures and records applicable to the specific publication.

14. Is Research Collab UK fully operational?
Research Collab is developing its international collaborative presence through the proposed Research Collab UK initiative. Some associated websites, organisational resources, and operational arrangements remain under development.
The proposed initiative is intended to support international academic networking and collaboration. Until the relevant arrangements are completed and confirmed, it should be understood as a developing project rather than assumed to be a fully operational UK branch.
15. Who are the editors working with Research Collab?
Research Collab works with editors and contributors from different academic disciplines and geographical regions. Editorial appointments and responsibilities are generally associated with specific publication projects and collaboration arrangements.
An editor's participation in a particular book does not automatically establish permanent membership of every publishing partner's editorial board. Authors and editors should verify appointments, affiliations, and responsibilities through the relevant project documentation.
16. What is an editorial identification code?
An editorial identification code is an administrative reference assigned or generated through Research Collab's editor registration and project coordination system.
The code may be used to identify registered editors, maintain registration records, coordinate project allocations, and manage editorial workflows. It is intended for administrative identification and does not automatically establish an individual's academic qualifications, editorial authority, or appointment by a particular publishing house.
Editorial appointments and project responsibilities should be verified through the relevant appointment records and project documentation.
17. Does an ISBN or DOI prove that a book is peer-reviewed?
No. ISBNs and DOIs serve identification and publication-record purposes; they do not independently certify academic quality, peer-review status, or acceptance by a selective academic index.
An ISBN identifies a book or a particular edition or format, according to the applicable ISBN rules. A DOI provides a persistent identifier for a registered digital object or other eligible scholarly output. The actual review process must be established separately through the publication's editorial and review records.
18. Does Research Collab provide ISBN documentation?
For books published through Research Collab's own publishing arrangements, applicable ISBN documentation or certificates may be provided to editors according to the publication arrangement and registration records.
For titles published through external publishing partners, the responsible publisher and corresponding ISBN details should be verified using the documentation for that particular title.
19. What is Zenodo, and how is it related to Research Collab publications?
Zenodo is an open research repository that allows eligible research outputs to be deposited and disseminated. Eligible records can receive a DOI, which provides a persistent identifier and supports citation and access to the deposited material.
Research Collab may facilitate the deposit or dissemination of eligible research outputs through Zenodo, depending on the project and applicable arrangements. The presence of a Zenodo record or DOI does not, by itself, demonstrate that a publication has undergone peer review or been accepted by a selective academic index.
Learn more through the official Zenodo documentation on records and DOIs.
20. What is OpenAIRE, and does it index Research Collab books?
OpenAIRE is an open-science infrastructure that aggregates and makes research outputs discoverable through connected repositories and other data sources.
Records deposited in Zenodo may be discoverable through OpenAIRE's services. However, the visibility of a specific book, chapter, or other research output should be checked individually. Research Collab does not assume that every publication is discoverable through OpenAIRE simply because it has a DOI or repository record.

21. Are Research Collab publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science?
Indexing status depends on the specific publication, journal, book series, or source and must be verified through the relevant database. A DOI, ISBN, Google Scholar result, Zenodo record, or OpenAIRE listing does not automatically establish Scopus or Web of Science indexing.
Research Collab does not claim that a particular title or publication series is indexed in Scopus or Web of Science unless that status can be independently verified for the relevant publication or source.
22. How can authors verify the publisher of a specific book?
Authors should consult the book's title page, copyright page, ISBN documentation, DOI record where applicable, and publishing agreement. These records should identify the responsible publisher and relevant publication information.
When a book is produced through a collaborative arrangement, the roles of Research Collab, the editor, and any external publishing partner should be distinguished clearly.
23. How can authors or editors raise questions or concerns?
Researchers, authors, editors, and institutions are welcome to contact Research Collab regarding publication arrangements, editorial appointments, fees, review procedures, ISBN documentation, DOI registration, or publication ethics concerns.
Please provide the relevant project title, publication reference, or supporting documentation wherever possible so that the enquiry can be directed to the appropriate team.
